Ming Beijing

明成祖朱棣迁都北京,建造紫禁城,形成"凸"字形城市格局,基本确定了北京的城市轮廓。

Emperor Yongle moved the capital to Beijing and built the Forbidden City, forming a "convex" shaped urban layout that basically determined Beijing's urban outline.

Qing Dynasty Continuation

清朝入关后沿用北京城,修建了圆明园、颐和园等皇家园林,形成了今日所见的北京历史风貌。

After entering the Shanhai Pass, the Qing Dynasty continued to use Beijing as its capital, building imperial gardens such as Yuanmingyuan and the Summer Palace, forming the historical style of Beijing seen today.
